Nourish

Nourish- Provide with food or substances necessary for growth, health, and good condition!!! When I hear the word NOURISH, I think about all the good things in life, nourishing your body nourishing your mind, nourishing your soul, nourishing your heart! Filling yourself with all the good food, good thoughts, good people, good surroundings, a full and satisfied feeling. You can't use the word nourish with anything bad, because then you aren't nourishing.

With my clients, the two words I use the most are nourish and nurture, and I like to remind them that they are the number one nourisher and nurturer of self. The most important person you should be nourishing is yourself, in all the ways, body, mind and spirit. Nourishing, is feeding yourself, making sure your are fueled, that you feel good from head to toe, healthy and happy. Nourishment is for the whole body, so pay attention to what you need, what you are craving from the deepest part of yourself. Fill yourself up, a happy and nourished soul will take you a long way in life. Close your eyes, and say the word nourish a few times, then write down what comes to mind when you hear the word. As you hear it, does a smile come across your face, is there a really good feeling inside, you should be thinking about nothing but good things, happy images etched into your brain.

Nourishing yourself helps you enjoy life, making it easier to get what you need accomplished, being motivated to move through your day, upbeat and alive. Being good to yourself will come through to other people, the positive energy will show, your productivity will show, your smile will show, conversations will open up everywhere. It is never too late to start nourishing yourself, if you haven't done a very good job of it in the past, there is no time like the present to start.

Start with the food you eat, fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats, nuts and seeds, wholes grains, natural unprocessed foods. If you want a french fry, make them yourself, if you want sweets make them yourself with sweeteners such as maple syrup, honey, dates, agave nectar. Make your own salad dressings, make your own bread, by making your own food you will know exactly what is in it, and you can make the cleaner choices. Surround yourself with positive feel good people, like minded people, people that will stand by you and support you, people that will help you grow and expand. By doing this you will nourish both your mind and soul. Do things that feel good and right, go places that will nourish your soul, experience new things, take in new sights. Learn, educate, read, watch, listen, converse, breath, touch, use all your senses, growing and expanding into the person you want and know you can be. It all starts with nourishing yourself from the inside out.
